Lola

My baby has lost a lot of weight since she was sick. She actually fits into a few of her jammies that were too small before. :( Gotta fatten my baby back up!!!! LOL!! She hasn't had solids in almost 2 weeks. I'm going to try to see if she wants some applesauce last on this morning. I made some the yesterday in hopes that she'll want to eat again soon. :) We'll see!!!!

I'm so behind in my house work because either the kids were sick or I was sick. BLAH! Time to catch up!

I've Got My Lola Back

My baby girl is FINALLY feeling better. What a relief! That was seriously the week from HELL!!! She's back to sleeping through the night, sitting quietly and just smiling and is happy to just be around and doesn't need to be held constantly. She hasn't eaten solids in over a week though and she's only eating a little bit at a time. I can't even tell you how much breastmilk has been wasted! Seriously....lots. -_- That's ok though, I think we're done breastfeeding anyway. I was refusing to waste any more breastmilk, so I started making formula bottles and saving the best for when she's all better. I think she's starting to teethe now as well because latching on is just not happening. We've had a great run, I'll you that! After getting her tongue clipped, which I will NEVER do to another baby of mine again!, she was a boob champ! I'm so proud of us!!! We'll see how long I last just pumping, or should I say....we'll see how long Lex LETS me sit down to pump. -_- That boy! LOL!!

It's now my turn to be sick. I'm going to see my doctor later because I swear I have strep throat. :( No fun.

Conversations With Lex

Last week Lex was looking for his magnifying glass and couldn't find it, so he too ALL of his toys out of the toy box. Toys everywhere! While he was doing this he came across some toys he hadn't seen in a while. One of which is this little bee toy that makes popping sounds when you drag it across the floor. -_- Big no, no when Lola is sleeping AND not feeling good. So I kept telling him to keep it in the livingroom, but he just had to bring it to the diningroom where I just KNEW it would wake Lola up. So I grabbed the toy and told him that it was too loud and it had to go away. Here is what happened.....

ME:: Lex, I've told you to use quiet toys, Lola is sleeping.
LEX:: That's MY toy, Momma!! Give it back!
ME: You can play with it in the livingroom, NOT the diningroom.
LEX:: Fine! Give it back please!

I hand him the toy and he proceeds to get "the look", you know which one I"m talking about. The one that says...."Screw you, Mom. I do what I want"

LEX:: How about slooooow bee? (and proceeds to come into the diningroom what that damned thing!)
ME:: Alexander Julian, if you come one step closer you are going in TIME OUT!
LEX:: How bout really sloooooow bee? (and comes one more step with that evil look)

At this point I'm trying hard not to laugh, and it was hard, but I HAD to put him in time out. I had to. He sat nicely, and when his time was up he got down and went straight for that damn bee again. ((SIGH)) This time he didn't come into the diningroom, he stayed right on the line between the two rooms. -_- LOL! BOYS!

Lola's First ER Experience

Poor Lola just can't catch a break. First it was the constipation, then the virus and then today when I went into her room to check on her I walk into a bloody mess. LITERALLY! Blood ALL over her, the crib, the wall and her blankets were soaked!! The Hemangioma on her cheek was bleeding. And boy, oh boy did it bleed! I've never seen is squirt blood before. I didn't panic, I just picked her up and started applying pressure. When the bleeding stopped I put her in the sink to bathe the blood off of her and there was a LOT of it!! In her ears, mouth and her hair was caked with it. :( While I was bathing her it started bleeding AGAIN! It was just pouring out!! That's how it went for over an hour. At one point it was squirting out and it actually hit the window. O_O Kevin didn't believe me until I told him it was his turn to hold her while I called the doctor. While I was on the phone Kevin starts yelling..."NINA!!!! NINA!!!!!! Come QUICK! IT'S SQUIRTING OUT!!!!!" So I ran next door to get our neighbor, who's a nurse, to see if she'll sit with Lex and Raven while we run Lola to the ER. Thank God for Nancy, she took right over and stayed until Kevin came home. As soon as we got to the ER and they got us in a room the bleeding had stopped. Of course. Her PJ's were covered in blood so it's not like they we were lying, they could see the damage. The whole time that we were there I could hear children crying and screaming and it made me so thankful that we were there for something simple that will eventually go away. There was a baby in the room next to our room who's Mother was crying listening to the doctor say that her baby was very, very sick and needed to be transfered to Children's Hospital in Boston. :( I just held Lola and kissed her fat cheeks and said a HUGE thank you that she's healthy!! Of course, all the nurses were fawning over her. They couldn't get over how chunky she is. LOL! I think the doctor was flirting with me. -_- He said..."Look at beautiful Lola!! I see where she gets her good looks from. Mom!" -_- LOL! Too funny. Anyway. We came home, she just hung out and watched up set up for Raven's party. Speaking of which.....there are about 10 teenage girls in my house right now. Ugh! LOL! Cake time! Gotta run!!

Miss. Raven

My daughter will be 13 on Sunday. How in the world did that happen?! UGH! She's growing up way too fast. I remember that exactly 13 years ago I was heading to my 9:30 appointment, my final appointment, and I was so very sore. I wasn't huge, I was small compared to some of the other women whom I saw at every appointment, but her head was down so low!!! So I waddled to help with the discomfort. It was snowing, of course :), and I thought it would be nice to walk to try and bring labor on. My doctor's office was only a 20 minute walk from my house, not far at all. When I got there my doctor asked me if I wanted him to strip my membranes. Since this was my first baby I had no idea what he was talking about. He explained and I was like..."Sure. Whatever. Knock yourself out!". LOL! He did, ouch, and I walked home in a lot of pain. I was totally regretting the whole walking idea at that point. LOL! But I made it home just fine. I had a lot to do the next day so I thought I should get all my house cleaning done as soon as possible. My entire day was spent cleaning!! And I mean CLEANING!!! Now that I think back on it I guess I was nesting, but then I had no idea, I just thought the house needed a good cleaning. LOL! My friends came over to see me that night to make sure everything was ok. My phone didn't stop ringing all day and well into the night. Raven's biological Father had a bad habit of calling all the time even though I asked him not to, but when he called to see if I was in labor I actually talked to him for a little bit. I asked him to respect my wishes to not have him in my life (LONG STORY), but I knew he had a right to know Raven so I answered all his questions about her. She was baby/daughter #7, YES...7!!, so he knew I was probably going to have her soon when I told him everything that was going on. He, again, asked if he could be there, I told him that the only person I wanted there was my sister and he was fine with that. Before we hung up he asked if he could see her and I told him I'd call him. I never called. It really was for the best, the best for Raven.

The next day was Valentine's Day!! I woke up and just knew I was in labor. I was hot, sweaty, crampy and spotting. But I refused to have my baby on Valentine's Day. I flat out refused! LOL! Selfish, I know, but whatever. LOL! So I started my day with my usual exercises, glass of orange juice and a Twinkie. I was a total Twinkie junkie with Raven. LOL! When I left the house I knew it was going to be rough going due to the BLIZZARD that was just starting. -_- I had to go to the hospital and drop off my paperwork, pick my niece up from school, go grocery shopping for my sister, then go get my bestfriend's 2 girls from the sitter, then go to my house and finish packing my hospital bag and then before work I has plans to go to my friend's, Denise, house for a Valentine's Day feel sorry for yourself because you're single party (LOL!!) before leaving for work. All day long I had been having some pretty painful contractions, but like I said......I refused to have her that day, so I just ignored the pain and kept going. I actually got everything done in record time! I went home to have nap before going to Denise's house. I kept waking up with every contraction and just breathing through them as best as I could. I didn't want to tell anyone because I just wasn't sure if this was it or not.

On my way to her house I stopped because I had a craving for Apple Jacks. YUMMY! I bought a box of those, milk a package of Twinkies and some chips and soda for everyone else. LOL! When I got there I was having contractions every 5-8 minutes apart. Again.....this was my first time so I had no idea what or how it was all supposed to happen. All my friends were there, all girls and one guy, who just happened to be Denise's ex-boyfriend and who was also a Dad. As soon as he saw me he said..."You're having that baby tonight. Call your doctor. Now." I refused to and sat down with a HUGE bowl of my Apple Jacks, the whole box LOL!, and was just happy to be around friends. When 9 o'clock rolled around it was time to go to work, but that was just not happening. I called in and told my boss that I couldn't make it because I was in labor. YAY! Then I remembered that I didn't have my hospital bag! O_O I went to my car thinking I would just drive over and grab it. No way. The snow was coming down too hard and my car was stuck! So my friends and I walked to my house, which was about 1 mile down the road. Not far at all, but I was in LABOR!!! I'm so glad I forgot my bags and had to go back home because I had also forgotten to blow out a few candles I left burning! We made our way back to Denise's house and by this point I couldn't walk through the contractions any more. They were just about a steady 5 minutes apart and getting stronger. Denise's landlord had to drive me to the hospital in his truck because no one else could get out! LOL! Thank God for plows!!

My sister had called me to tell me she would meet me there but one of of twins was in the hospital and it would take her a while to get to me. No prob! I could totally do this alone. I actually liked being alone. It helped me focus. Although, Denise's landlord asked if I wanted him to stay till my sister got there cause he's a Granddad and the thought of a "young woman" being alone during labor made him sad. LOL! Poor guy. I assured him that I was perfectly fine going in on my own. :) I thought that was very nice of him. When I got to labor and delivery I went to the front desk and the 2 women sitting there said..."No, hunny.....you see us AFTER you have your baby" LOL!!!! So I made my way down to the very last desk which was sorta dark and very quiet except for the screaming woman in one of the rooms. I don't mean like moaning, I mean like someone was killing her. o_O Not something a first time Mom wants so hear. So I get checked in, taken to my room and the whole time I'm trying really hard not to make any sounds whatsoever! The pain was so intense, I could barely stand it. I got changed, my doctor came in and we talked. He asked me if I wanted pain meds and I told him no, but thank you. I wanted to do this naturally. He then checked me and I was 5 1/2 cm and Raven was way down. He said just to sit back, try to relax and we'd have a baby tonight. I asked him if we could wait till AFTER midnight, and he just laughed and said..."You're asking the wrong person. You better talk to that little one in there! She's the boss now". So damn true! My sister finally got there around 11:30 and just in time to see me projectile vomit all over the curtains. She ran right back out. LOL! I don't think my nurse liked me very much after that. HAHAHAA!! Anyway. I could feel Raven moving down and knew that this was what they called transition, so I asked to be check. I could barely keep my focus, I didn't want anyone to touch me but I wanted to know where I was. She checked me and I was 7 1/2 cm dilated and she said that it probably wouldn't be much longer. That was at 1:30 a.m.. At 2 a.m. I looked at my sister and said..."I can't do it. This is killing me." She pretty much just started freaking out and asking the nurse if they could do something. The nurse said that I declined meds but if I wanted something she would ask the doctor, I started screaming....."I DON'T WANT FUCKING DRUGS!! I WANT THIS THING OUT OF ME! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!" O_O The look on that poor woman's face was hysterical! My sister started laughing and told the nurse that I would be just fine. She then looked at me and said..."Nina. You have got to pull it together. You cannot scream at people like that. She is trying her best. And you are doing great!!! Just hang in there!". That's when I felt like I had to push. It was 2:15 a.m.. I told my sister to get the doctor, Raven was coming. NOW! She ran out, the nurse came in and said...."I just checked her and I doubt it's changed in the last 15 minutes, but I'll check anyways." -_- Yeah....she didn't like me. heheheheee!! She didn't even have to look far before she jumped up and said...."She's fully dilated! Do NOT push! That baby is RIGHT there". She ran out of the room to get the doctor and while she was gone I felt my hips pop our (ouch!) and I started pushing again. I told my sister to get them NOW! Just then about 8 people ran into the room and started getting things ready. My doctor walked up to me and said..."Oh yeah...hi baby!! She's coming fast! Better hurry!!" One push and her head was out, the second push I stopped because it hurt sooo bad, third push and she was out! They let me hold her for a second before taking her to the pedis waiting. There was meconium in my water so they had to clear her lungs out as soon as she came out. As soon as they took her from me my sister walked over to her while the doctor stitched me up. My doctor and I were talking about how funny it was that she came out hand first and with her eyes open! :) That's when we heard everyone start laughing and when I asked what the Hell was happening with my baby they said...."She's SMILING!!!" :) Yes, Raven was only minutes old and she was already smiling. After all was aid and done they handed her to me and I just stared at her and she just stared right back at me. She was the most beautiful baby I'd ever seen. She nursed right away, had great poops and slept like right next to me. It was beautiful.

Since the day she was born she was in a rush to do things fast, and now she's turning 13. 13 years went by so fast. I really should stop blinking. LOL!!

Best Baby In The World?

Lola is! Yes, even though she said "Dada" and actually meant it, I still think she is the best. :) She's just so easy going. She never cries, never fusses for no reason and she's fun! It doesn't get any better than Lola. LOL!!!

Lola's First Formula Bottle!

-_- So......Kevin had an appointment to get his hair cut yesterday and I thought that it would be nice to take the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese for a few hours. I had Raven with me, so it wasn't bad at all........until Lola was hungry. While we were there Raven and Lex played games and Lola and I just walked around. It was nice. When she was ready to eat I took her bottle with 8 oz. of breastmilk to the bathroom to warm it up. They actually have very hot water, believe it or not. Now, this was one of those times that Lola was apparently very hungry and she started screaming at the top of her lungs!! That always flusters me and I was trying my best to hurry but listening to her scream got me all twisted and guess what I did...........I dropped the bottle and breastmilk went everywhere!!!!! -_- Now, it normally wouldn't bother me, but I didn't have any more breastmilk with me and I never have any formula and I just knew that she was not going to cooperate with breastfeeding. She's been hitting, biting and just being difficult at the breast, but I keep doing it! So as I'm cleaning it up a woman walks in the bathroom and said...."Oh my! Don't tell me that's breastmilk!" I'm thinking she's gonna be an ass about it, but she wasn't, she got a hand full of paper towels and helped me clean it up. I protested and told her she didn't have to and she said that getting a little breastmilk on her hands was the least of her problems at that place. LOL! So true. She went on to tell me how breastmilk is like GOLD and when it's spilled like that it just saddens her. o_O She was a bit strange but nice so I just let her ramble on and on about breastfeeding. After we got ALL 8 oz! Ugh. She held Lola for me while I washed my hands, I said thanks and left the tainted bathroom. LOL! Now rememebr....Lola is screaming the entire time! I sit down, whip out my Bebe au Lait nursing cover and proceed to TRY to feed Lola. As I suspected, she wanted none of it. -_- So I kept trying until she bit down real hard, then I gave up. I got Raven and told her to run next door to CVS and grab a new bottle and a small can of formula. She came back with all that AND a warm bottle of spring water. Seriously......what would I do without her?! LOL! I could NOT get that bottle made fast enough for her. She ate the whole 8 oz and STILL wanted more. She didn't even want the food I packed for her, just the bottle. So at this point my boobs are KILLING me and I just knew I was going to have to pack the kids up and leave as soon as possible. We had been there for 2 hours so it was time to go anyways. By time I got home I felt like my chest was on fire! I pumped out 20 ounces. It hurt so bad. I haven't had that happen in a long time.

Now, I have nothing against formula except that it cost way too much money. LOL! I'm cheap, so I'm going to have to just try my best to keep up with the pumping as much as possible, but I don't have any time for that. I really don't. I usually only pump 2 times a day. In the morning and before bed. I don't have time for it, not with Lex and Lola being so demanding. So we'll see what happens. She gets formula with her cereal because as I've said before, I think breastmilk is gross and don't want to taste test it. HAHAHAAA!! Silly, I know, but I can't help myself. :) She does fine with it, but I just don't want to buy it for 4 more months. As far as I'm concerned she is DONE with the breast AND the bottle at 12 months. I refuse to go through what we're going through with Lex. -_- He is addicted to the bottle. We've got him off it at night, but he still wants one at nap time. So far we've been able to get him to sleep without it, but he STILL asks for it. What a pain! And I'm not going to go through that with Lola. I refuse. So she's done at 12 months. DONE!!! LOL!

Fills My Heart With Joy!!!

Last night while Lola was eating Kevin came up to her and said....."Lola, where's Momma? Where is she?" And every time she would look straight at me! :D ((sigh)) She knows who Momma is! YAY!!!! She still only says Numnumnumnum. LOL! Of course! The little piggy!♥

Play-Doh

I hate that stuff. I really do. But Lex LOVES it, so I let him play with it. What a mess every time! -_- Today he made me balls.......lots and lots of play-doh balls. It's cute though, so I don't mind the mess. He wanted to play with it on the "big boy" table, our new table, but I said no. I told him he had to get in his highchair and do you know what he said? He said....."UGH! Not the BABY chair!" O_O HAHAHAAA!! Very funny. Some times I"ll look at him and say..."Awww. Look at my baby. My baby boy Lex." He'll look at me sand say..."NO! I'm LEX! Not BABY!" LOL!!! ((sigh)) They grow up so fast. :)
